Glitch Counterpoint: A Surreal Metamorphosis (2025)
This musical composition is based on an algorithm developed in Pure Data that randomly generates counterpoint from an original twelve-tone series. The work includes a solo viola part, also based on the same twelve-tone series, currently realized through physical modeling synthesis (Swam Viola Solo) but intended to be replaced in the future by a live acoustic performance, thus echoing the avant-garde of the last century. The glitch elements were algorithmically generated in Pure Data, integrated with synthetic sounds from commercial software. The visual fabric of the work, inspired by surrealism, harnesses the creative potential of artificial intelligence. The creative process involved multiple AI systems for generating base images, while Luma AI orchestrated video transformations and morphing effects. The characteristic imperfections of AI in image generation were deliberately integrated as expressive elements, creating a dialogue between programmed error and artistic intention.
Use of AI: AI was utilized to generate the visual components of the artwork through morphing techniques. Multiple AI systems were employed - first to create the initial images, then Luma AI was specifically used to produce the
video and morphing effects.
